Post Protech Springs
I'm thinking of getting a set of Protechs for my V6 Libra.
Any idea of recommended spring rates?
It's a road car and not going to be used on the track so I'd like a bit of comfort as well as handling.
My car has anti roll bars front and rear and is running on 17 wheels.
Thanks.

The protechs come with springs with a reasonable roadworthy spring rate.

Do you know what they are, I just spoke to Protech and they didn’t seem sure.

250lb front, 300 lb rear sez on their website.

I have protech fronts with 250 (no ARB) and am happy on the road.

I have AVO with 300 springs on rear now, I will buy a set of protech rear eventually, when i can afford to.

300 rear seems a bit soft to me. Mine are 425 and aren't overly stiff, I'd say about right.

Back in the day front were 250 rear 450

Later when RDM were making them the spring rates dropped quite a bit.

Some years ago Bob Snooks I think along with another member did all the sums to work out wheel frequency etc and came up with some answers. There is a topic on it somehwere.

I tried the lower rates and found the ride very compliant but too much roll and too soft for me.

I tried lots of different combinations and ended up back with 250 450. I also had anti roll bars.
