Hi, having strip the rear suspension down there was quite a bit of mounting bracket welding required after 20 years on the road so unsurprisingly on rebuilding I need to set the track. All four rod ends are in a very poor state so need replacing. Originally they were supplied with the kit with GTM part numbers but I assume were OEM parts from something.
Can anyone shed any light on what they are please.
Thanks
Phil

Hi, Take a look at this thread libra-rear-suspension-t597.html. I take it you are asking about the toe adjusting ends. One end is stock Rover Metro and the other is PSA late '80s - 90s so 205 etc. Yes part TA977 from the AP Lockheed box mine was in. Centre adjusting and lefthand thread part are I believe GTM parts.

Thanks Howard, that makes sense nearly…..
I have successfully separated the hex adjuster with lots of penetrating oil and a bit of persuasion. The 205 end looks like what I have on the one end the other end is perplexing and I do not want to damage anything GTM as that way lies more engineering.
You mention a left hand thread and a stock Rover TRE, What I am looking at is a left hand thread machined from a hex bar which “looks” to go seamlessly into the Rover TRE. Are these actually two separate components if I am careful?
You sound like you have had it all apart so thought I would check before tackling the unknown.
Thanks
Phil

This may help https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/ ... ild-manual
I can't say I have ever had it all apart, just put it together may years and miles ago. Beware the Left thread part (T0313) should be thread locked into the Metro TRE.

Good luck

Hi,

Success, carefully cut the end off the metro TRE (it was already US) and could see the void so was happy i was looking at two parts. Soaked in penetrating oil overnight, slotted the out side to get a good grip with some mole grips and then a good sharp knock with a hammer and it was free.
Will be putting it all back together tomorrow night now.

Thanks for your help

Phil
