This pic shows both Metro/R100 and MGF/TF. I think the mounting to the car is the same for both. Two plastic posts with screws in the ends.
The fundamental difference is in the way they adjust. The basic Metro version has a fixed glass and all adjustment is via moving the whole mirror body. For the MGF version the mirror body stays still (although it can fold and there is some adjustment on the body) and the mirror glass moves around on an internal mechanism, often electrically. If you used MGF and abandoned the remote adjustment I'm not sure if you would have enough range of adjustment by moving the body (but you might have - worth checking if you know somebody with a MGF). You could of course wire up the electric remote adjustment and have a really cool Libra!
