Post Before I take a hacksaw to it........
......how the h3ll is the Metro instrument panel supposed to fit in the Rossa dashboard? The manual says that it is "secured to the dashboard after the dash has been fitted" and it is "held in position by four self tapping screws through the pod into the dash itself" which doesn't really explain very much  Can I take it that the pod is not fitted in its entirety and needs to be tidied up a bit by the removal of all the bits behind the screws that hold the whole thing together? I thought perhaps the instruments themselves were removed and re-assembled with the glass and front cowling minus the housing but that doesn't work either so cutting the excess off the back seems the best bet. Also, where are the screws supposed to go? By the time the dash has been opened up to let the instrument pack through there isn't much left to fix screws to :? Can anybody help? Foties would be very helpful :)

What model Rossa? My car is a Mk1. so may be a bit different. Does your dash look like this? ( Well not as messy, I'm still sorting out my loss of power to the coil)

If it does, and we are talking about the Speedo/Rev Counter/Warning lights panel the mine is held on by a screw with side, thus...

And yes. they just catch the edge of the opening in the Main dash. In fact the RH was OK but the LH one the hole had broken through the edge. I've had to fit two U-nuts so there is something positive to fit to.

Hope thats what you were asking. :)

Thanks Derek - that's the one :D Mine's a Mk1 too. I didn't want to have screws on the dash but didn't think about putting them there! The dash is still on the bench so I'll make up some suitable brackets on the back of it. I finally cut off all the excess stuff from the Metro housing and spent ages getting it to fit through the dash. It's now in and a tight fit but I've opened up the hole too far in the left hand corners - where to cut on the right hand side was clearly marked but the left side was hardly marked at all so it was trial and error) I don't want the centre air vents so I'll make up a plate to cover that area and shape it to the edge of the housing for a neat fit. Thanks again.

Yes, mines a tight fit, by the time you get it in its all coming apart :( then I found the panel lights did'nt work so it was out, more fiddling, then in again. then my speedo cable broke  Great fun kit cars arn't they.

I've got it in Allen, thanks. Fiddly isn't the word and I'm trying to make it secure enough that it doesn't creak once it's in the car - having said that, it will probably win prizes for creaking once it's finished  Your photos will still be interesting, though, and might be useful to somebody else. I was reluctant to cut everything off the housing in case I removed a bit that was needed for fixing it and a photo would have been very welcome. I'll post mine up when it's finished.

Allen, Photos need to be on a web site such as flickr to publish, not your hard drive. :(

Or you can use the add atachment option just below the first submit button when your posting, browse to where it is on your computer and load it up simular to attaching a picture to an email. I just ask your careful on size as i huge picture will mean the forum slows down and you have to scroll to see it all, generally speaking 640x480 pixels is a sensible size for a forum, if anyone wants a higher res they should ask the poster.

Hi Neal, tried and failed with the add attachement feature, I'll try again.

I did and got 'Could not upload attachment to ./files/58_8c8e53a73ed905374cbfd580eb6fd874.'

Tried twice and it wouldn't play at all.
