you want to save weight - right?
type in "car battery" into ebay and buy the cheapest "063" battery that there is - its about £35 delivered its tayna branded and im on my second - the first lasted 5 years this battery will easily start a 1300cc "A" series and only weighs 11kgs the ebay seller is more organised than a hive of termites
spend some hours looking up "lightweight racing battery" into google. be shocked at the prices. and then realise my plan is better and cheaper.
any gotchas? yes - 1. you can get specialist lithium batteries that are very light - these beat my £35 plan but if you have that sort of budget your not looking here for tips. mind you they have no reserve capacity 2. if it hits minus 10 celcius an "063" wont start your 1300cc a series - for that you need a "075" but if you know its gonna be minus ten - take the bottery aut that night and keep it in the house. works for me. we dont get minus ten anymore . remmeber cold winters? i do.
hope everyone is ok? im still daily driving my rossa - it starts every time - sparks are good - and i have the crazy carb heating pipes that i ran all the way through the 2018 summer heatwave with no trubble. ive done some really weird stuff to keep the engine warmer on long runs - but thats a specialist subject for another time. best wishes your man in manchester
