Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and GTM cars. I'm looking for a Rossa and have found one which I believe has the reg. no. Q881 UOE. I believe it is a MkI but as its 150 miles from me have not been able to see it yet. Does anyone or the club know this car and could send me details. I believe it was presviously owned by a club member but has been off the road for about 2 years. Any information most welcome. |

No news of Q881 UOE then Got to see the car yesterday and it is a Mk1 Rossa. Car has been off the road for 2 years since its last MOT ran out but has been started and moved regularly. Looks a sound car with a good interior. "Pepper Pot" alloys in good condition with new tyres. Engine sounds OK with good oil pressure. Body is tatty and in need of a re-spray. Windscreen edges looking "milky" in places. Some GRP crazing and other marks that need attention. So what's it worth then? What would you pay for it? |

Without seeing it in the flesh myself I wouldn't like to put a "true" price on it BUT if it is correctly registered and all there I would suggest that £500 plus would be a place to start and I base this on how much it would cost just to get a car like this registered in today's market what with the IVA test and then the registration fees etc. However that is just my observation. I bought my K3 for less a couple of years ago but it did need tidying and I had to stop the water ingress through the roof and sort the gear linkage out. |

Well after a couple of weeks of should I or shouldn't I and a 330 mile round trip last Thursday Q881 UOE now sits in my car port awaiting some tlc. Although it's got a brand new MOT it's a bit rough around the edges and I'm not sure whether to tax and insure it or dive straight into the restoration. I was pleasantly surprised it came with a thick file of documentation including lots of bills, MOT's, articles, two Technical manuals and a dozen or so GTMOC Newsletters. Even got the original invoices for the kit from back in '87. Needless to say it's had 7+ owners, one major repair and several periods off the road and interestingly it was built in the Birmingham area, was in Scotland for many years, found its way to Yorkshire and is now "back home" in the Midlands. So I've joined the club and will soon be climbing the steep learning curve of Rossa ownership. Lots of questions so watch out for posts. I notice the "Midlands" group meets well East of the Birmingham area so are there any Mk1/2 owners near Redditch Derek ![]() ![]()

Drive it - find out what needs doing and what You want to alter, then restore / modify it. |

Thanks Guys, My only reasoning to restore first was to avoid tax & insurance only to find I need to take it off the road. But you're right may only be the cosmetics initially, the other bits could wait until I understand the car better. Better get on the phone for a quote. Derek |
