Hi Guys, I spoke to Protec on Friday but the person who can give me a price is on holiday (back on Monday)
but I understand that a ball park price for a set of rear shocks for the Libra is about £300-00. I will confirm an exact price when I have spoken to Protec on Monday.

Just having a rumage around on t'interweb :P
& found these on Protech's website

http://www.protechshocks.co.uk/gtm-libra-rears

& they state that they're in stock :?:

I'm guessing that its not correct & not been updated recently !?!

Anyway according to their website
Rears are £300
Fronts are £228
Springs are £26.40 each
( i'd want to change all four if i do them - Avo's at the moment)
So that makes a full set around £635 -ish

Post subject:  Re: Coilovers

my plan to fit protech fronts with gaz spring seats didn't work as the gaz ones that came were exactly the same size as the protech ones so I am now going to try to make some spacers to fit on top of spring seats about 12mm deep which should be be enough to allow spring top seat to clear mtg bracket I have be told clearance is a problem because the gtm mtgs were originally designed to use 1.9 springs and the lack of clearance problems started after change to 2.25 springs.the 12 spacers will only reduce travel by 12mm rather than 23mm if I change top mtgs to 55mm from centre of top mtg hole.If you need a set of shocks I would try to order protech with Don if you can enough people to make min order if you put avo in google second on list is a lot of people on piston heads complaining about them so I would get protech rears while there is a chance to get them made I think the fronts are a more standard size so you could wait to let me try to solve the clearance problem on the top mount before you order the front ones.i have got the aluminium to make spacers but will have to wait till next time I go to my friends stockcar workshop to use his lathe to machine it

Spoke to Protec this morning. The prices quoted by Sven are spot on. Front shocks for the Libra are £228-00 per pair inc vat. The springs are £26-40 each inc vat.
So, I have ordered a set of shocks plus a set of springs for £280-80 plus £12-00 p&p.
The rears are £300-00 per set of shocks but if you want springs as well the total is £352.80 inc vat. They are NOT in stock but Protec will make them for a minimum order of 5 sets. Are there any people to join me to make up the minimum order???

Post subject:  Re: Coilovers

I have now got my front shocks on the correct way up using the 12mm spacers I have made the spring seat has now moved down enough to clear the mounting bracket the problem seems to been caused by the manufacturers of all makes changing the dimensions slightly if you have older ones with a steeper angle you can fit your new shocks with these and they should fit ok. Good luck to those wanting rears I hope you get your min order of five has anyone found out if spyder rears are the same as libra rears if they are there maybe two spyder owners willing to make up the other two to get five orders. Not heard from Matty on this subject for a while who started this topic have you decided to replace yours or get gaz ones repaired good luck with which option you choose but please let the others know so they are not let in suspense

My two front ones are leaking badly backs are not as bad will probably have the front two rebuild by gaz and leave the rears for now.

Hi All,

I would take a full set, if Protech can be convinced to make them.

Anybody know what spring rates they are recommending ?

Cheers,
Tim
