Post subject: | Identifying Front Hubs |
A daft question, but I'm trying to sort out various hubs etc lying around my garage and getting myself totally confused - am I correct in thinking that the grease nipples on the hubs fitted to the car should be facing forward? I'm getting my lh and rh hubs mixed up and now I'm wondering if I've put them on the correct sides Thanks. |

Sorry, I should have said that It's drum type front hubs I'm asking about. They don't have calliper holes (obviously!) and both grease nipples are on the same side. |

Can you find the casting numbers? As Im sure there is a different number cast into them for left and right and if you compare the number to say mini spares you may get a clue. Neil |

I've done that and neither Mini Spares or Mini Sport list it. I guess they have them remanufactured under their own number if they have them at all. However, the other one I have is an old MOWOG number and from looking on ebay I'm pretty sure that it's the left hand one so the other (2A4312-20) is the right hand. I already had the 2A etc one on ebay as the LH which was why it was bothering me and I have now edited the listing to say that it's the RH. Looking under the car wasn't much help because, as Midas says, the nipples are both front and back on the disc versions! |
