Post racelogic traction control/ Hondata traction control
Has anyone got any experience how to wire up a racelogic traction control system to the libra which has ring gear but no ABS. It is like talking to a brick wall at racelogic or hondata for info as they all know how to make it work on a ABS system but not a non ABS car. So infuriating that they don't know as I have been searching the web all day.

:(

I have some limited experience on a car with ABS sensors it was a while ago, I thought You had to have the individual wheel speed sensors for it to work, is this not the case? or certainly a driven and none driven axle speed sensors I would thought would be a minimum

Post Re: racelogic traction control
Your right but I could really do with a wiring diagram from either racelogic or hondata for there traction control system for a non abs install. It probably is tow of the wires go direct to each of the four driven wheels with an eight wire system. Some same say I need a permanent supply to each sensor as well as the two from the traction control but not certain.

I just don't want to spend upto £800 on a system that may or may not work, I want a little certainty from them which I haven't got yet. I have emailed both companies with technical support fir repulse even though I have talked to them.

Post Re: racelogic traction control
I have decided to get the hondata traction system as it almost plugs directly into my kpro ecu and just needs setting up with my lap top plugged into my ecu. Chats to hondata have proven I can use the cv ring gear already in place. All I need to get is four inductive or Hall effect sensors (3rd diagram in link) with a positive/negative/signal live connection. I need to run a 12v dc supply to each sensor and then run the two cables for each wheel sensor from the traction control unit. I do also need to put a 1k resister in between the positive live and the signal live for each wheel sensor.
It costs £495 for the traction control and then the sensors which us probably another £200ish but will research more before I buy the sensors but needs to be long and adjustable as I have to drill a hole large enough on the zcars to see the ring gear

Post Re: racelogic traction control
There is some sense in keeping it all the same system and I see Hondata has come down in price a little now and is comparable to racelogic. A friend already has racelogic and then got Hondata later so runs them independently, only a couple of times have they interfered with each other one being on a the dyno.

Be interesting to see how it turns out, Any particular reason for fitting is the Rotrex just too much power sometimes, or you planning on going to some track days then?

In the dry it is perfect but a sniff of rain and wow the back end slips out a lot. I recently did silverstone in the rain and it was a very greasy track at that as well. I spun out through a particular corner about five times at 70mph but still managed to keep it on the track and accelerate away in third. The skyline boys were coming over and asking when I am out next as I was entertaining to watch from behind lol.
Just gives me a little confidence plus the main reason is the mrs also drives the car and I can relax more with this in place and working.

Can understand those comments, mine can be a little lively in the wet too I am considering the Hondata traction control in the future

Definitely a little lively in the rain, I was wheel spinning in 4th gear down the finish straight in Silverstone at 120mph, but like I said it was raining alot, with puddles and it was a greasy track to boot which would never have helped me.
The mrs is a school teacher and on dry days she takes it to school with the occasional little squeeze in third down the dual carriageway but she doesn't know enough to get herself out of trouble if the rear spins up or slides out slightly.
For future use in case anybody else needs to know I have had comprehensive discsuions with hondata. You need a 3 wire hall efect sensor or inductive sensor per wheel and a permanent ecu supply 12v to each sensor/wheel. The negative cable from the traction control is to grounded to earth near the traction control unit and the wire sent to each sensor/wheel. The signal cable supply is to be sent directly to each wheel sensor from the traction control unit. A 1k resistor is to be linked between the signal live and the permanent live near the traction control unit. The pick up points near the sensors/wheels will be the old ABS ring gear attached to the cv's. Failing that I will have to attach a toothed wheel (crank sensor wheel or something) as a pick up point instead, but would look more factory if I used the existing abs toothed cv joints. Apparently there is a few setting adjustments on my ecu (kpro - hondata) once plugged in but this is just fetling around it looks. If I can't figure it out Honda specialists in warrington - tdi north can set it up for me "for a price"

Link below to the hondata traction control unit installation(3rd diagram, hall effect sensor but inductive sensor can also be used as advised by hondata)

http://hondata.com/help/tractioncontrol/index.html

I have ordered the traction control unit and will be installing it in the next few weeks (probably months) and will get back to you on the results.

Post ReHondata traction control install
Well its taken me a while but i have finally begun the installation of the traction control system on the car. By this evening the both rear sensors will be installed and the wires located near the ecu behind my passenger seat ready for termination once the fronts are completed.

I have attached some photos to show what i have been upto :-

Both front sensors are in place and fitted. I had to take about 10mm off the back of the cv joint as it restricted the steering lock
I just need to wire all four sets of cables to inside the car and then a little soldering and programming to the ecu.

Some more photos of the front:-

All the mechanical installation and internal car wiring is completed :D
I have wired everything back to the ecu and started diagnosing the cables to solder in. Only have one big problem that i didn't realize, there is no cable for the connection into the ecu via the jack plug even though the ecu has it built in ready to use and programme. So i have sourced some pin outs to from a company called CPL Racing and are on route for this week.

http://www.cplracing.co.uk/products.php?productid=542

Hopefully complete before the end of the week and then it is all programming then from the software on a laptop, which i have some idea but a little knowledge can be dangerous. There is a back up plan and i book the car into either Cpl racing or tdi north for this to be done instead by the pro's.

will update again soon

Post Re: racelogic traction control/ Hondata traction control
Pins didn't fit, typical. I have now had to contact hybrid racing in America for the pins but no reply yet. I could have forced it and make it fit but I would rather exhaust my efforts for the correct pin outs before I start getting drastic.
I have put it all back together and taken for a test drive and everything is spot on.

I do have a spare set of old hubs with cv's for the front if anyone wants them?
