Post track springs rates for the libra
I completed a recent trackday and found i have to much roll on the cornering and was wondering what everyones thoughts were of increasing the poundage of the springs all round.

I have at present :-
450lbs 12" tall 2.25id springs for the rear
250lbs 8" tall 2.25id springs for the front
i have anti roll bars back and front.
I also have the Zcars conversion for the rear.
I probably have a little to much power to boot as well. This allows the car to squat at the rear under power and makes the car a little unbalanced hence the topic.

I have been looking at the elises and exiges as i have compared it to the libra and the track versions seem to be around:-
600lbs springs for the rear
450lbs for the front
with a similar weight as the libra

The current setup i believe is a comfortable compromise between normal driving & fast road but I found on reasonably hard cornering the rear came unstable without the power down but due to my large rear tyre 245 35 17 they occasionally scraped the shell on cornering. This tells me the rear on cornering is dropping around 50mm. Whilst the mrs was taking the car around the track i noted the front dived a lot on braking and then went off balance turning in.

Granted though i would expect it to be a lot harsher as a daily drive but for track use has anyone experimented on the effects.

Can't comment on spring rates but you do feature on Moleman's last video on the BKCC forum site:
http://bristolkitcarclub.co.uk/smf2/index.php?topic=3573.45;topicseen from about 2mins 10 to about 3mins 20 so if your eyes are good you might get a view from a following car...

Cheers for that link, it is perfect for me to evaluate the car
I have viewed the footage a fair few times on the long bend at the bottom and watched the suspension movement a lot and I wasn't cornering hard at all, so have to much movement for track use.

That's it I am definately trialing some higher poundage springs alround.
On the plus side libra was phenomenal on the straights, as I pulled 130mph getting into 5th gear on the home straight and then torched the brakes coming into the sharp left, lol

Smudge was directly behind you for that period. He was videoing too so might be worth messaging him to see if he has any better footage. If you join the BKCC forum and post asking for any video of your car I'm sure the guys will hunt through what they took and send you anything relevant.

I'm very jealous missing that trackday (would have been my first in the Spyder). I was supposed to be in Rome so didn't book the trackday but my flight was cancelled due to the Rome airport fire so could have gone...

Hope you get the springs sorted. I'm not sure what mine will be like on track but the Spyder tub flexes more than the Libra so might be better with more suspension movement anyway. Did you try a few extra clicks on the dampers?

The BKCC has a resident suspension expert, Camber Dave. If you post anything technical on that forum he usually comes back with excellent advice.

Cheers, I was on the maximum on the clicks, and adjusted the anti roll bars, but will tweak this a little more as well
I will look on the web site on the other cars to see if there is any more footage
