Whats the best stuff to use to cover over the bare fibreglass inside the engine bay, under the bonnet and boot lid, is there a form of undersealer that sets solid, any help appreciated.

When i did a lot or glassfibre work on a speedboat i painted the bare fibreglass in the engine bay with resin and some proper colour tint mixed into it. I'm not sure where you'd get it from now though. I cleaned the fibreglass first with acetone and the coloured resin stuck like s**t to a blanket

Yeah I thought of that but I was more looking into the epoxy based undersealers in say matt black, that way it should hide a lot of the imperfections etc as well as giving a good hard wearing surface, I been looking at a few on the web but wanted to know what other people have used in the past.

I bought a tin of Protectakote on ebay but I haven't tried it yet. It's a rubberoid stuff that's meant for things like pick-up truck beds so it should be hard wearing. It comes in different colours and can be overpainted too.

For a cheap easy option, silicone garage floor paint.

Must say I've used a cheap Bituminous paint, can't remember who recommended it but it seems to do the job.
It dries to a rubbery flexible finish, supposed to reduce star cracking due to stone chips and the like.

Stonechip aerosol is as good as anything I find.

I've been told epoxy mastic paint is the bees knees, any experience with this product, (Stonechip aerosol is as good as anything I find) this was my initial feeling of what to use, any specific brand to use or steer clear of?
