Post Westfield Factory Open Day.
Westfield Open Day

Westfield Sports Cars [current owners of the GTM Libra & Spyder marques] have invited the GTMOC and the Westfield OC to an 'Open Day' at the factory in Birmingham DY6 8XF on the 25th October 2014 9am-3pm.

All club members should already have been informed of the event by email. The GTMOC committee has decided to open the invite to all forum members, including those who are not members of the club [yet!].

If you would like to come along please PM me and register your interest in attending as soon as possible.

Regards

Bob.

I have seen on the Westfield owners club website that the electric gtm will apparently be on show at the factory open day. How true this is I don't know but I think I will be popping along to find out and have a look around.

The electric Libra was on show by Potenza at the Engineering Design show in Coventry today but despite visiting the stand several times no one was there to answer any questions.
I hope to see it on saturday.
Peter.

Juls and I were given a sneak preview of a built up aluminium monocoque for a new car on the Friday but it was very much a work in progress.

There were no front or rear panels/clams or any suspension/ engine on the car. There was a lot of plywood attached to the monocoque to start forming the shape of the car. As it's taken this long to get to this stage I expect it will be another 3 years, probably more, before we see it complete (if ever!).

Bob -- I think we all keen to know what you found in all the boxes -- a long lost stash of Libra spares or a big disappointment?

As you say the new car does appear some way off -- not likely at the Autosport show in January then?

Hi Steve

Sorry for not replying sooner, don't know how I missed your post.

No secret stash of spares unfortunately and as you say a big disappointment for me.
Still most of the parts that they have, have been sorted so if you phone up with a T number [or e mail a photo] they should be able to find out if they have what you want in stock :?: But you wouldn't be able to build a car with what they have left.

I've put a few words about our visit in the newsletter which should have gone out yesterday.

Bob.
