Model related FAQ
Ladies and Gents
Been a topic of discussion with a member in Pms, and I have been having a think how to implement it and I require your help.
Basically I am thinking of a FAQ sticky for each model of GTM with possibly being solely kept upto date by the mods with submission of material from you the members.
Examples.
What are the fog lights used on a Rossa and any possible alternatives/links.
Libra pillow ball/rose bush joints and the info of where they come from and the alternatives that can be made to work.
The purpose of this is to collate the information available on this board and to help people with the common questions we do see from time to time.
Neil

Re: Model related FAQ
I'm not sure this would end up being any easier than searching through the threads. I'm not a big fan of lots of stickies at the top of each section. Generally I've found a reasonable search string turns up what you were looking for and if not nobody has so far sent me to the naughty step for asking questions that have already been answered. If nothing else nubes asking daft questions keeps the forum active and gives new owners a reason to post.

Re: Model related FAQ
I like the idea and think that it would be very useful . If members don't like stickies then it might be an idea for a new forum which I guess would have to be fairly heavily moderated to keep topics on track. Some of the original parts used are now becoming hard to find and it would save a lot of hassle if members could say what alternatives they came up with, especially nowadays when access to wander around breakers' yards is practically unavailable thanks to the elf 'n' safety mafia

Re: Model related FAQ
How about a page with stickies on it in a similar order to a haynes manual for each car rossa k3 libra spyder ie: Spec of kit car Engine Cooling/ Heater Clutch Gearbox drive shafts Suspension Brakes Electrical Body + Fittings Wheels tyres Miscellaneous (odds and ends that don't fit into other sections)
or reorganize the forum in that way?? make searching for things easier can parts of a build be used as a sticky or comment so if there is a really great bit on brakes that can be highlighted?

Re: Model related FAQ
Sounds like a good idea to me. I find the search function very good and don't mind spending some time finding information. Some sort of FAQ section would have saved me a lot of time however

Re: Model related FAQ
this sounds like a very good idea to me, but I have thought for a long time that this sort of info should be available to those who have joined the club and paid their subs, therefor it should appear in the GTMOC members area.

Re: Model related FAQ
We are currently putting the finishing touches to the GTM Rossa which was run at the Silverstone Classic in 2009 and was recently fitted with a Hyabusa engine and gearbox at Zcars (pictures in the Zcars thread). We are now trying to have the car accepted by the MSA as a Road-going Modified Specialist sports car for sprints and hill climbs as well as some circuit races. It has just been accepted as a Formula Libre car in the VSCC Pomeroy Trophy in February next year and, if necessary, will be run in "all-comers" races in the UK. However, in order to satisfy the MSA, we need to show that, at some point in the Rossa model history, at least 20 cars (bodies) were produced and sold in any 12 month period. The engine satisfies the criteria because at least 1,000 were produced by a commercial manufacturer for use in land vehicles. Does anyone have the production figures please?
