Post subject:  Did a Track Day Yesterday at Combe

Had a great day at Castle Combe yesterday in the Spyder. It is a day jointly organised by a guy from Kitnet and one of his mates with a tin top so small, friendly, mostly kits and very well behaved. Only 35 places so as much track time as you want. Gave my home made ARB's a good test and they work a treat. Worth 2 seconds a lap!!

There was another red Spyder there too (he is also Bristol based but I only ever see him at Combe!)

https://youtu.be/Ls_6H0kjC3g This is a video from one of the other participants, I like the low down camera angle, camera fixed to his nose cone. Skip the first 30 seconds or so. Spyder on Spyder action comes in at 2:38 soon after I've overtaken the cameraman and where you can see me zoom past the other Spyder from a following POV.

Here is my point of view of that session. The dark blue Westie at the start of this clip is the one that filmed the previous link. When he let me by I thought he was pitting, hence not thanking him and then double taking in the mirror on the straight. I caught up with the other Spyder and followed for a bit. We all came past the black 206 that must have been on a warm up lap as he's one of the quick guys on slicks with plenty of power. I was starting to think the other Spyder driver didn't have mirrors so it was a bit of a surprise when he indicated me past just before the Esses. Not long after that I had my mirrors full of the black Peugeot. He wasn't quite close enough to easily let him by before Camp but whilst thinking about it I outbraked myself and forgot to change down so tried to disguise it by indicating him by and pretending I'd taken a wide line to give him space! I then completely messed up which gear to use... Kept him in my sights for a good while after though!

Apologies for the wobbly camera mount - hope nobody gets seasick!
