Seems to have been an influx of false/spam sign ups so I had to delete all the inactive users in the what I call the sin bin, hopefully this was clogging up the system where new users are not getting their activation emails.

Hopefully fixed,

If you signed up and didnt get your activation email, please try again and hopefully the system will work this time.

When you sign up I now have to verify you before you are fully registered, this is due to the spam sign ups recently, Im going to see how this works out, so please be patient as it may take a little longer for your account to be approved.

Unfortantly activation by myself is more work then deleting the false sign ups when they apear. I have raised the visual confirmation complexity again as this made a huge difference to false sign ups, my junk mail folder was brimming!

so back to how we were for now

I still think members only posting is a bad idea, it certainly put me off several clubs/car types when I was looking around for a car and club to join.

If someone is contemplating buying a GTM and joining the club surely we want them to be on the forums chatting to us so we can help them get a car and into the club.

Right a slightly different approach,

Providing I have set it up correctly, all new users will have to have their first post verified before it is posted on the board.

Lets
See how that goes.

Over the next few days Im having a clean up.

I am removing all users that have not visted the site since registration.

I have also removed members which have not been visiting in the last 6 months or so.

With all the spamming etc the member list needs a big clean up and calls for drastict clean up.

So far so good,

Still sorting out the inactive members, If I delete anyone which I shouldnt please re register, and next time swing by and say hi to everyone. then you will not be classed as inactive

Consider the Board Cleansed

All inactive/single visit accounts removed

Accounts which have zero posts and inactive since March 2011 removed.

Appoligies to anyone which should not have been removed, I needed to be strict with the criteria to get a cleaner member list. You should of said hi by now  and been more active, but feel free to re register and say hi.

Next thing to sort is the email banned list, as with the latest changes I have been able to allow gmail accounts again for example we had lots of spam from random gmail accounts and I had to blanket ban all gmail accounts due to this.

Hopfully this will lead to an improved board for everyone :D

Hi, just joined OC after a while looking at the forum content. Now have a Rossa that needs some TLC. Have a question about posting or PM ing. Trying to send s PM and they seem to stay in my outbox rather than appear as sent. Managed to get one out but currently have two sitting waiting?
