Re: Wide bodied Coupe back on eBay...
So presumably he bought it, stripped the body off and went ...Ohhh Sh**t... when he saw how bad it was?

Re: Wide bodied Coupe back on eBay...
I've emailed the bloke to ask why it's back on ebay so soon and what's wrong with it... should be an interesting reply (if I get one!)... I know it's appeared now and again on here and elsewhere, but does anyone know anything definite about it? Was it built by the factory and displayed at Earls Court? Why did they build it? And what's this Le Mans reference, or is that the wooden-nose-growing reference?

Re: Wide bodied Coupe back on eBay...
As far as I'm aware the car was built with some assistance from the factory (so I was told?). It was displayed at the Stoneleigh kit car show, I think from memory in 86ish?. Question Who thinks that it would have been cost effective and worth it, for a very small kit car manufacture on the outskirts of Nottingham , entering Le mans with a twin cam Lancia engine come on surely pure fabrication. (anyone remember the Rothmanns 962's winning in 86?) Besides I KNOW that it sold for £50 at a H & H auction about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago Interested parties Please note that its already at £800 With a bit of graft and a rethink on the engine spec/manufacture it will be more than welcome back into our order I'm sure someone on here will put me straight on what I have said if any of its wrong but I KNOW it sold for £50!

Re: Wide bodied Coupe back on eBay...
yep was bought for 50 notes and the auction was at kempton park from memory.
The buyer at the time was interested in the lot before the GTM and won that, saw this come up and thought it was worth the starting bid of 50 so bid onit nbot knowing what a GTM was. and he ended up with it.

Re: Wide bodied Coupe back on eBay...
I'm thinking about having a bid on this. Does anyone else know anymore about it?
Lancia engine I see. What running gear/ brakes etc is it running?
What does a standard coupe weigh?
Cheers

I know its not standard but mine tips the scales at 728 Kg plus me when I last weighed it ready to go full tank of fuel etc.
My car has an interior, waxoyled, stereo, heater etc.

Re: Wide bodied Coupe back on eBay...
As usual it's not what you know, it's who you know I'd expect this to be virtually a Lancia Montecarlo underneath (I've had 2 of them) Meaning the block casting on the Fiat is slightly different to the Lancia, so is not an easier swap. Brakes are notoriously bad if it's running a full Montecarlo setup. Uno Turbo brakes are an easy swap on the front. About 120bhp in standard trim - inlet and carb mods make a Helluva difference. Very low geared - but the S1 monte ran 13" wheels so should still be good for 120mph in this one. This is crying out for a 3sgte from a Mk2 MR2 - or even the whole back end from one.
