Just thought I'd introduce myself and my car as I finally have it on the road.

I'm Andy, I'm 23 and I've got a 1983 GTM Coupe.

My dad bought it for me 5 years ago from someone who had started to do a restoration on it, but we stripped it back down and started afresh.
We got a fair bit done the first year (basically to a rolling chassis) but I then went to university so only got bits done in holidays. I have finished it off myself in the last year.

I work in a family business of powder coating so everything that could be coated has been coated. All the body work and undercoating was done by myself however I did get by brother to paint the colour coat as he is a much better sprayer than me.

Quick Spec:
Standard 1275 with 45DCOE and a modified cooper freeflow manifold with carbon fiber back box.
Hi-Lo's and adjustable spax all round.
1.5 neg arms on the back.
Adjustable rose-jointed lower arms and tie-bars up front.
Metro 4-pots with vented disc on front, minifin drums rear.
7x13 Supertrax with Yokohama A539 and Miglia Arches.
Corbeau buckets with Luke 4-point harnesses.
My own bits of styling and modifying including making a one piece engine cover and custom dash board and dash top.

Although I've now got it MOT'd and Taxed and driving it about it is by no means "finished" as I still have plenty of jobs I want/need to do.

From the "other" topic: Yes, looks like a very early GTM engineering car. There's something going on around the front wiper too.

What are those arches from mini miglia? look to follow the shape rather nicely.

The chassis No. is 49B

They are Miglia arches but by no means were they a good fit. That was one of my most hated jobs on the project, shaping the arch bit by bit till it got a nice fit. Very lengthy job.

There was a small deflector moulded on the bonnet but was damaged so got sanded down even smaller (there is still a very slight lip).

And unfortunately we never took any pics when we first got the car, but I do have some pics of what the body looked like before...

Exeter used to be park in the order You arrive - no reserved areas. I'm sure Bob S will be along anytime soon to say whats being organised for that show.

Nicely done, I know how long that can take offering up small trim, offering up small trim till it looks right not fun but worth it in the end, remeber doing somthing simular when working on a GT car the aero kit wasnt ment to fit our car and it didnt!

does look to be an early GTM engineering car esspecially with that low chassis number.
