Shame....... :(

On the plus side my car is almost back together - hoping to sprint at Curborough on the 15th if all goes to plan! At the moment the engine going back in to the car is being held up by Minispares who don't have a timing chain.........very sad day.

Dave,

I have entered the July 15th meeting too. We have the green machine in bits at the moment to change the final drive ratios, I don't know if we will get the bits and the car back together in time so I will give the red car an outing if needed. We are expecting a new grandchild around then too so my plans may be thwarted in total.
Glad you and your car are nearly ready again.
My season to date has been farly boring, I did well at Loton Park (red car) at Easter but since then I have been close seconds or thirds - I am finding the green car more difficult to drive but it is basically quicker, the ECU needs a bit of resetting I think and the final drive ratio is hampering me on short tracks, of the six gears I have I rarely use more than 3.

Well - if anybody in the UK holds a stock of duplex timing chains and vernier timing gears it will be running..........

It will be good to get back behind the wheel again - I had some fun at Curborough on Wednesday. We had a Lotus Carlton sideways all around the course. Not the fastest way around but very spectacular. It really hasn't dated for a 20 year old car!

What are you aiming at as your max speed in top?

We are targetting about 120mph. We are shifting the final drive from 2.93:1 to 3.6:1, hoping to improve acceleration off the line and out of bends and give us access to more gears.

I'm going from 3.6 to 4.1 - think that will land me at about 90mph flat out.

Probably enough for Curborough, but a bit light for other places such as Mallory Park.

To do much more it will need more hp, I'm trying to optimise it for Curborough at this stage what with all my time constraints!

If I manage to pull off a G40 next year then that should be adequately endowed for other venues

Well done, Keith Calver Special Tuning sells the Iwis duplex chain seperately  There's a mine of info on the website too :)

Well this weekend is going to be a no show for me. We've had problems getting hold of and setting up the vernier duplex timing chain!

Ah well, I will be in the red car - if it goes, have just got back from London and I was in Le Mans last weekend.
