Couldn't find it on e-Bay but these engines are supposed to make serious power (for an A series) -- 8V up to 130hp and 16V up to 160hp -- the Special Components kit seems to be the way to go at around £650 the last time I looked but there is a lot of machining to do to the block to re-locate the head studs and the head itself needs the oil returns welding up and the front end faced off in the move from chain to belt drive -- so huge added cost there. Unfortunately the major issue for installatioin in a GTM is the need for significant modifications to the bulkhead -- see piccy below

I've seen a K.A.D head in a Cox 8)

But because of the larger, triangular bulkhead box it fits without issue

Sorry about the state of the car -- turbocox I'd be interested to see the design of the Cox bulkhead -- perhaps we should start a new thread in the powertrain section if anyone wants to continue discussing BMW heads -- thoughts?

Stick a turbo on and 250bhp plus is possible. Traction can be an issue though ;-)

Thanks. I'm in the middle of buying something plastic and RWD, so thought this might be a good place to lurk. Guess I should say hello properly...

I saw Jim's car make 269BHP on one of the turbo minis rolling road days.
