Re: Land speed record(s)
Yep already seen this Thanks anyway I spoke to the designer of the Bluebird Mach 1.1. last week. Which was designed in 1965/66 with the target of breaking the sound barrier by using 2 Rocket assisted take off engines. It was never built, because Donald Campbell died, whilst trying to raise funding for it by setting a new water speed record on 4/1/67. The Same DAY the Cox G.T.M was first released at the Racing car show, London. Click here to see a model of Bluebird Mach 1.1 http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h ... 24&bih=685

Re: Land speed record(s)
I used to work for the company that built all the cooling ducting for Thrust 2. (I also used to work for the company that supplied the metal for the Iraqi super gun) Oopsy. A good mate of mine has the world record for "How many clothes pegs can you attach to your face"
Anyway.... errr,
AFAIK The Mini Marcos still owns 4 British Land speed records - Maybe we should aim at that?

Re: Land speed record(s)
I Think:
It's either sub 1300cc or sub 1000cc Standing mile and metric equivalent. Flying mile and metric equivalent

Re: Land speed record(s)
Found this after a google around............ Land Speed Records Racing was not the Mini Marcos's only forté. Steve Roberts in the Trans-XL Mini Marcos (Photo, 56 kbytes) set four British land speed class records which survive to this day. These are the flying mile, 1/4 mile, kilometre and 500m for cars up to 1600cc. Many of the cars are still regularly campaigned in historic sportscar races, sprints and hillclimbs around the world. But no speed details, I've just been on the guinness world records site, and did a search in their "records Search" section and found nothing about Mini Marcos. Are they just "Mini Marc-i" Records Mini Marcos Marque specific records
