Just seen a comment that to run on the strip you need an MOT cert. Does anyone know if this is true?

Its a run what you brung event so you dont need one! there will be cars there that are purley race cars or built just for that event and wont have MOTs, it wont be a problem trust me.

Shame on all those who didn't attend.. The weekend turned out to be a mixed bag of dry cool weather and showers on Saturday, with Sunday being dry and hot all day. :D .You mabe interested to know Tim, that no nitrous was used all weekend, we checked the bottle weight and it was the same weight as it was when we started.  . We had a good look when we go home and found a blockage in the line.  We also found at the track late on Sunday that the dash pot plunger had broken away from the dash pot screw cap . . Not to mention the fuel being sprayed in, with out the matched amount of nitrous (pop pop bang flame)  .     . Tim hope the pic's where of interest

Best Time: 19 odd seconds. Terminal 68mph :?
Worst time: 47 odd seconds - terminal 10mph
Best Reaction: 0.409 seconds

1st run, pulled the throttle cable out of the carb linkage halfway down.
2nd run ok, but not very quick.
3rd run, realised i'd still got another 1/2 throttle travel that I hadn't been using and kept up with a Vauxhall engined estate until 1st gearchange - then throttle pedal dissappeared up under the dash - took a few seconds to firtle it back down again.

Not a disaster in any way - seeing as is drove onto, and back off the trailer at home with no major problems. :D :D :D

Definitely going again next year. I need thinner shoes tho.

Well done to everyone that came to enjoy the fun.

Well first outing to the track for the new engine,

500 miles running in completed just before getting there,

Saturday, some baselining, got some nice launches [always struggle at avon] and put down some solid first runs and went slighty faster than i have nasp at avon 13.07, so looking good,my previous best for avon was 13.24

Sunday
started using the new nitrous kit, a few problems with the loose nut behind the steering wheel. i was not driving the car proberly making a few silly mistakes, at the end of the day managed a 12.7 when i managed to hit all gears and not turning off the nitrous system during gear changes, kept knocking the controller.

after a review of the runs i was disapointed it was only 12.7, but i know why, it was too safe a tune, too rich, and too little timing, but it was a new nitrous kit and engine, and i had to start somewhere and i have a direction to go in now. plus a couple of jobs to do before the next event in a months time

Very tired its been a long couple of days, plus got sunburnt

but we have a direction and some ideas so hopefully back on the road towards the 11s.

5th Phill [Coupe]
4th Howard [K3]
3rd Bob [Libra]
2nd Stuart [cox]
1st guess who [coupe]

best reaction went to Phill
and best presented to Bob

Now 4 weeks till Mini In the Park! Hunting for the elusive 11 there hopefully
