That's unkind - Stuart how many times have we got to tell you about kicking people when they're down Now tell us who's got several constructors titles? and who fluked one last year? <ha ha - clatter> (laughed my head off)

malc jones wrote: Hi, The paint colour match looks prety good to the coupe gel coat original red. Can you tell us what paint type and shade of red you used please?. Malc Jones, Thanks its 2k ford radient red, bought from a decent supplier, so its all new paint, so no problems with out of date materials (a problem ive had before with 2k) its a deeper red than the gel coat, i will take a photo against the untouched rear bumper for comparison

 Re: my new coupe
got it painted and started to reassemble it, as per with gtms, nothing ever seems to fit! engine in (a 1071 cc) major dissapointment is the maniflow exhaust, it hangs down far too much, i suspect they assume that the bumper will hide this, but as im not fitting that im going to chop this around to try and hide it a bit more, it really grates on me every time i open the garage door!! it now starts and drives, but its all the little detail jobs that take the time!

 Re: my new coupe

 Re: my new coupe
bit of progress on mine, the mot gets nearer...... I love these lights, well worth the effort they took to make and fit ignore the suspension, none of it was set in the photos and it looks a bit odd!

 Re: my new coupe
get in! took it to the local bmw mini dealers today for its mot (just so they could see a proper mini based car lol) its handy as its literally 30ft from work so its easy to take cars, and they really look after them. it passed first time with no advisories! few more little jobs to sort and a rolling road session and its ready to enjoy

 Re: my new coupe
Good work, looks like a nice tidy one. I'm assuming it's Rich's bad influence that lead you to this. He didn't exactly help me not buy Wil's old Nimbus....
What are the rear lights from? Something similar might look OK on the nimbus.

 Re: my new coupe
I am rich
they are bmw2002 rear lamps, reworked to fir into a flat panel
wils nimbus has, dare I say it, a far more comfortable drivers compartment that a gtm, that extra bit of width at the roof really helps.
I cant wait to get some pictures of them together to really compare the size

 Re: my new coupe
I thought that might be the case. Those lights will probably be out of my budget. Would be good to see a shot of them together.
I reckon the Nimbus will still be a tight squeeze for those of us with a taller frame.

 Re: my new coupe
I think I paid about 40 quid for those lights on ebay, they where not expensive.
they where a horrid job to use though as on a bmw there are all off set, so you have to take them to bits and rework them so they sit flat.
worth it in the end though as they look perfect

 Re: my new coupe
They suit the Coupe, but I think the back of the Nimbus is too low and too wide to pull it off. Will keep it in the back of my mind. Need to finish the mini off first...
