Ive just spoken with the "cash in lieu of a settlement man"
they have agreed to pay me directly the amount they had set aside to sort nelly out.

so when the cheque has arrived (and its not enough for a brand new front end )
im going to strip out the damaged radiator, cut out the damaged glass fibre , attach new glass fibre, paint it up, fit new radiator and jobs done.
within that sentance lies a whole heap of trouble !

any comments? or tips?
i do appreciate that getting the glass fibre repared properly and looking good will not be easy.

Spend a lot of time getting the prep just right !! Do not think "oh it'll be alright" - It won't be

you are right.
its eight months later and im very happy with the strength of the repair
in fact its stronger than the rest of the front.
but there are MANY cracks that will need the gel coat removing and properly sorting.
a lot of the cracks are long and were not obvious in december when i did the repair.
nelly needs a lot of time to get her looking nice again.
ive got her running soo well but im ashamed to let anyone see her.


forum member baxter did see her when he bought the roll bar and he was kind about her looks.

its looking ok to me and its great to see a daily driver that is enjoyed every drive. if you spent a fortune getting it totally perfect you would be gutted with the first stone chip.lol

got two new shock absorbers today - when the rain stops i will fit them.
that means all nellys shocks will have been done this year - so thats good.
standard shocks on a rossa - no need to uprate them at all for road use.
thats what i think anyway.
ive got springs on nelly not rubber cones. - i think they make the car a lot smoother.
they just slot in where the cones used to be - very easy.
again the standard springs are what you want - there are different rates available.

5 years on from your post so I'm unsure if you'll even see this but worth a try.

You said you've put standard shocks on your Rossa, i.e. standard quality as I read it. My question is, are they standard length too and not lowered mini length?

I've just got my engine half right so now it's on to the handling. I might even go for the springs too.

I'm new to the GTM world so thanks for any advice.
