Post Engines
I have a D16 A9 engine in my track car. It is rated at 130BHP by Honda and I suspect it is still producing most of it. It starts and runs well. It sits in a "mini subframe" which is extensively modified - only the suspension towers remain really

Inevitably I would like more power. I have looked around the internet and spoken to people to search out tuning options for the D16 and they seem to be very limited.
An engine change may be the answer but the prospect of building a new structure on the back of the car to house a a 1.8 VVC or perhaps a Hayabusa engine or some other sort of engine is beyond me.

Can anybody point me in the right direction please to get help?

Regards

david

For d series you could search here http://board.hondacrx.co.uk/phpbb2/index.php

Have a look at Neil's rear subframe to open up engine possibilities.

Did you fit an ultra light flywheel after all? Possibly change the final drive to a shorter one depending what top speed you need.

I think it is unlikely I will need much over 100mph.

Tim,

Thanks for your informative response
I have read the tuning guide on the CRX website - it is very useful; maybe all is not lost!

It would like to Neil's rear sub-frame to open up the engine possibilities.
