 cox chassis numbers
does anyone have any examples of early cox chassis numbers? ive just bought another one to add to my fleet this is a 1970 registered cox, but the chassis number is huge, i dont know weather the original builder has tried to go for a world record , or if it 'decodes' to mean something.

 Re: cox chassis numbers
It may be the original donor car number, or that and the number given to the kit.
The coupes were a number and a single lettter, but I'm not sure on the Coxs.

 Re: cox chassis numbers
My Cox's vin number is only "GTM 1/##". It is an original Cox with all early features, first registered in '69.

 Re: cox chassis numbers
I've only ever seen cars with chassis plates, but I suppose the builder could have done whatever he wanted.
The start of the code wasn't the name of the guy who built it was it? Maybe even with the date of completion in it.
All that is certain with early GTMs is that they are all different!
