 Hello and anyone have..
Well firstly hello, i'm new here, i've registered as i have bought Dean Thomas's (team gtec) honda v tec engine gtm rally car. First impression is that its going to be a right giggle! i have competed in nova's astra's corsa's and a tigra so felt it was time for something completely different. After 20 years in front wheel drive i may make a fool of myself but as long as theres a laugh i'm happy. I feel there are a few jobs i'd like to do, apart from the entrance and exit issue ( i'm much bulkyer than Dean! ) i'd like to find a replacement engine cover, any of you nice chaps out in gtm land have one lurking about they might be interested in selling?
All the best Darren

Welcome to the mad house, from the other HONDA powered Coupe I Spoke to dean quite alot in its ealier days of development, as he had a few issues to attend to to get the car reliably fast and I had experianced them, never did see the car int ehflesh myself but always followed its progress. Neil

 Re: Hello and anyone have..
Thanks for the welcome, Dean seems a really nice chap and i'm stoked up for the first event which will be the " Bob Shaw memorial rally " at Talbenny down here in Westest Wales on April 10th. Its very much Darrian and big thumping mk2 escort land here so we shall see just how quick the plastic fantastic is! I have two boys ( 6 and 4 ) and they take up most of our spare time so i just want to have a good chuckle when the chance arrives! Darren

 Re: Hello and anyone have..
Honda powered coupes are too common now IN regards to the engine cover how much of a rush do you need one, Neil.

 Re: Hello and anyone have..
All my life i have been a bit different, the odd one in the crowd a bit weird! 3 days on here and i feel normal! As for the engine cover there is no rush, there is a home made affair on it now, i would just like to tidy it up having looked at some of the pics of other cars on here I cant seem to access the members bit? how do i get approved? theres not some bonkers initiation Darren

Im still building mine for tarmac competition. Should have posted a reply before now but time seams to be motoring. Did the rally, finished 14th overall and first in class, not the quickest on the first couple of stages but was still there at the end! Wasn't the quickest out of the box as was most of the first two stages giggling like a little girl as the car is the best fun ever! It wouldn't have mattered had i have finished last what a blast. I have been a vauxhall engine man for twenty years but 500 yards in the blue bath tub and im converted, Dean had told me to hang on when the vtec comes in, and i thought yeah yeah i've been rallying for years i'm ok, can't actually type my words during the first stage but if i put " goooooooooosh gosh gosh gooooooooosh gosh ooooooh gosh gosh gosh blumming heck " for 6 mins 47 secs you get the picture! For a car biult in someones shed it ran with very little issuses , mgf gear linkage fell apart when a little bolt broke, but a bolt from the gas strut on the tailgate of my cousins mk4 escort did the job for last two stages! bar that the only trouble me and my navigator had was getting in and out! we are both on the large side Llys-yr-Fran hillclimb in 3 weeks.....
