Advice request, seal for k-series 1400 MPI Throttlebody Seal
Hi If anyone can advise re a supplier for the thick rubber seal that bolts (on engine side) of the Fuel Injection Throttle body (mine is cracked), on the 1400cc MPI K-series engine fitted to My Rossa K3, see photo on link below, I would be very grateful. Many thanks. Photo at: http://www.peterboroughareaweddings.co. ... tes/gtmk3/

A member that lives near me has just ordered one of these from SMC [Slough Motor Co] ex Rover dealers, or you could try Rimmer Bros.
Bob.

Peter,
You need to get this fixed asap -- the throttle body on my Libra fell off -- yes really! -- leaving me with a maxed out engine which seems to be ok and stranded at the local tip of all places. An off-duty RAC man fixed up a temporary repair with sealant and two tie-wraps.
I got a new unit from a local dealer who's now stocking MG although I think Bob is right that Rimmers have the part. Prepare for a financial shock as it £88 including VAT. Also the rubber seems softer and the design is still sh*t, relying on a bonded surface. If you're running a K&N filter I think it probably needs a bit more support on the throttlebody side

Thankyou Bob and Steve for your advice. I must say I am really surprised by the price - for that part that seems excessive. O well, I guess I have no choice (unless any forum members know of a cheaper supplier? - as it sounds as if even the expensive ones are of questionable quality.) Thanks again. Regards Peter

I had the same problem and in the end changes the inlet manifold to VVC unit, cheaper in long run.
