Post Ideas for future events
A week or two ago, 4 Cox and Coupe owners met up for a nice Sunday morning chat.

Chatting revolved around, Cox history, and the early years of our favorite marque.
But also about what we as owners would like to use our cars for.

Ideas came thick and fast between us, but due to our common interests they revolved around simalar themes, all great ideas in my veiw but not for everyone.

I'd like to start this thread to see what all members of the club would like to use their cars for, in regard to future club events, through sugestions posted by members below.

We can then put these ideas forward to the club committee.

Not just the everyday uses day to day, but for future events to celebrate the GTM Marque.

This year Its the 45th year of the GTM name, and nothing has been organised due to various reasons, so lets get ourselves organised, not to long till the 50th

1. a european driving tour (Le mans classic or simalar esque event) or the IMM or the Italian Job.

2. to hire Curborough Sprint Course for a day of fun against the clock.

3. to hire, or do a hillclimb school at shelsley walsh. http://www.shelsley-walsh.co.uk/events/speed_school.asp?s=80

4. a trip to the Jersey festival of speed or the international-motoring-festival

http://www.classicandvintagejersey.co.uk/events/2012-speed-festival.aspx .
http://www.classicandvintagejersey.co.uk/events/jersey-international-motoring-festival.aspx

5. ideas 2 and 3 plus a 1/4 mile sprint, with points awarded for each discipline, with approperate class system,

(ie, highly modified GTM cars in there own class, such as engines that shouldnt be fitted, for example Honda coupes, Toyota coupes, Vauxhall coupes, Bike powered coupes, Honda Coupes, Toyota Libras, Audi libras) you get the idea.

Then a....
A series class for an A series based car,
A K series class for a K series based car ,
A KV6 series class for a KV6 based car, ect ect.

As you can see some of the ideas we came up with were more motorsport based and not for everyone.

SO....Come on lets hear what you are all thinking would be good, so the the Club can see what we want to do :D

What do you want too use your car for.

We book Curborough out mid week for not much money if it's of interest. If you want to use it at the weekend there is plenty of space for camping so the club could use it on the Saturday, camp overnight and then spectate on the Sunday......

And support me and David L on the Sunday!

If you have a Non Race National B licence then we should be able to get you an invite..........

How about a "Tour d'Ecosse" type of event?

Some lovely roads/scenery/distilleries/castles up here.

Stick in some visits to motor museums and famous motorsport venues to keep it car orientated and you have a family friendly event.

Oh, and it would save me a lot of travel time.

Keep the ideas comming :D

The more posted ideas, the more chance we can see the common themes.

Then the club, will have an idea of what we all want.

Or individuals can arange between themselves, if they wish to group up with members with simalar ideas.

Lets start using our cars!

European tour to the Alps gets my vote.

Had to cancel the one I had planned this year, so fingers crossed next year it will be on.

The route I had planned had 7 overnight stops to keep daily milage to what I thought was sensible.

Hi Stuart 2 or 3 would get My vote - if it goes wrong it's You - not someone else blundering into You :!:

We did a Lakes trip this year in our 289 Cobra replica, it was a very good trip.

Neither of my GTMs are road registered - could I come in my Cobra?

Option 5 has my vote but don't want to go to far incase a problem arises that I can't rectify quickly so far away from my comfort zone.
