Is this a GTM Speedo?
Hi all,
I'm trying to ID a speedo I picked up a while ago, as part of a full set of gauages. I was planning to use them on my mini, but now I compete in it I need to keep the dash original, so the speedo and a matching rev counter are just sitting in the garage. I believe it's orginally from a mid mini engined kit car, so wondered if it was from a GTM. There's a matching RVI rev counter as well, both Speedex 100mm.
Any info much appreciated,

Hi , I believe early coupes were mini instruments and later were triumph, not sure but I think speedex were just an aftermarket range of intruments, but I may be corrected on that !

Yeah, that all fits what I've been able to find out, I'm just intrigued about what the gauges originally came out of as the guy I bought them from said it was an A series engine kit car with the engine in the back - I remember him saying the speedo cable was a crazy length as a result. Since I didn't keep his details I think I will just have to resign myself to never knowing.

Speedex was originally a company owned by Jem Marsh (later of Marcos Cars) to make Austin 7 specials. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/speedex/inde ... age402.htmIt later became a spares and accessory suppliers similar to Merlin and Europa. I suspect that is where your speedo came from. As far as I can tell Speedex are no longer trading.
