 Bump stops
Has anyone ever experimented with shortening the bump stops on the front of the coupe - i've noticed mine are fairly close to touching top arm when static, so can't take much of a compression to touch.
The car doesn't look excessively low - Donuts have been machined to reduce rate, and I assume trumpets have been trimmed as per build manual.

 Re: Bump stops
I've noticed this on mine too.
My thought was that the difference in inner pivot to bumpstop and inner pivot to outer pivot was about 4:1 - so you'd actually get quite a bit of suspension movement before contact, plus the bumpstops are pretty soft for the first bit of compression.
If you wanted to trim them down i'd take advice on which end to trim as they'd have slightly differing effects

 Re: Bump stops
My coupe back in the day use to run very low, and had trimmed bump stops, the arm side of the bumpstop gives a harsher limit if trimmed flat. but now i run bigger wheels and slightly higher as my car was far too low for normal road use, about 95mm at the lowest point of the seat pan, was a little inconvienant, so i know run a little higher. and a far better rake etc. i have about 10mm between my arm and current untirmmed stops, with the therory as when they touch they a slightly progressive to start with.
At the minute its a fairly good compromsie

 Re: Bump stops
As a quick test, I've drilled a 10mm hole through each front bump stop, to reduce rate, as people do with cones - seems to ride better and be more stable at high (relatively speaking - MG metro powered) speeds.
