 Water filled sills..
Hello!
Getting stuck into my Rossa project now and after taking off the cover to the driver side sill I noticed that it is very wet inside. The wood inside, which I guess was the base for the fiberglass to be built up on, looks to be black and rotten.. Is this serious? Is the wood structural or unimportant when the fibreglass is there?
Thanks, Kit

Yes they are important. Very important. Replacing then is not easy, they were glassed in place when the tub was laid up. Plywood is very strong in the way it is used here so you can use it again. Alan Britton may have the template used to cut the originals.

Hi Roger Glad to see you're still around. I have the moulds but not the template.

Yes, Alan, I'm still around. My Rossa is now with my son and has been SORNed for the last six years. I fancy that I shall be helping him put it back on the road as soon as he is able to, since I know almost all the wrinkles involved. His brand-new son may get in the way for a bit, though!
