Heated Windscreens
Final fixed price: Top tint heated windscreen £165 + VAT (£193.88) Collect from factory in Staffs. or Individual insured delivery @ £40 (£47) Approx delivery time 10-12 weeksWe'll need a deposit of £100 now, if you're on the list I'll be in touch with the payment details. Deposit by cheque direct to the manufacturers, which they won't bank until the screens turn up, remainder to be paid on collection or before delivery. If you're not on the list and you want one ...hurry up, I need to finalise the numbers. Updated 15.5.08 20.00
Subject to a minimum order of 10 I have found a company that will make heated front screens for us. The cost would be only about £165 plus VAT - ie cheaper than a non-heated screen!
Briefly the spec. would be: Laminated Clear, Top Tint (approx 100mm at the center and 160mm at the corners) 'E' marked, (also 'As' for use in America and 'R34' for the rest of the world) Single circuit. (with the two wires exiting at the bottom of the screen near the corners) The wire size and pattern would be similar to the modern Ford Focus, Mondeo, Land Rover etc. pattern - ie 2mm bus bars top and bottom and very fine elements running down the screen.
Delivery is 12-16 weeks total, so to get the ball rolling I'm going to get a pattern screen to the manufactures on Fri. We can have all the screens delivered to a central point free. Individual delivery will be about £40 mainland UK ...................... We now have more orders than the minimum of 10 needed, so this is definitely going ahead. There's no upper limit to the number we can order so if you'd like one please add your name below.
I should point out that although we can add more screens to this order, any further order would need to be for a minimum of another 10, so I don't think we will be in a position to order again for some time....So if you want one now is the time !!

What we can't do though is end up wanting lots of different permutations, they'd have to be all the same. Can I suggest that everyone specifies if they'd prefer a top tint and we'll go with the majority choice? (assuming it's possible, which I'll check.) West, I'll certainly get in touch with Alan, but since he was trying to get rid of his last 2 normal screens at Stoneleigh I'm not sure he'll want to take any more on.

Re: Heated Windscreens
Isn't there a modern kit that uses the same screen? Maybe an idea to contact the manufacturers?

Re: Heated Windscreens
It's the Aeon GT3 I think.
It may be worth asking their owners club if they want to offer something.

Not that I know of unless you mean the Primo designs version of the Coupe (which is the same I believe), do you have any more details? Pantera2075 wrote: Maybe an idea to contact the manufacturers? I have, they can do plain at about the same cost, but to even consider a heated version they wanted a minimum order of 200

Re: Heated Windscreens
Bit of an update. I reckon we can make the minium 10 screens given the interest so far so...
Screens will be clear, top tint.
Delivery is 12-16 weeks total, so to get the ball rolling I'm going to get a pattern screen to the manufactures on Fri. We can have all the screens delivered to a central point free. Individual delivery will be about £40 mainland UK We need to discuss where everyone is to sort out what we want to do about local delivery.
Payment, we'll probably need a deposit to confirm interest, balance nearer the delivery time.

Re: Heated Windscreens
I'll have one too.
Would it be possible to ask how wide the tint band at the top is? Tint is definitely worth going for, but some of us taller drivers don't want to be looking through it all the time.
Great find Dino!
