Re: Heated windscreens - new batch
Hi Guys, Due to a slight oops with our ship, I'm putting in another order for heated screens if anyone else wants one?

Re: Heated windscreens - possible new batch
Hi Dino, I have a very early COX GTM screen in my car that has a crack to one side of the laminate. Do you think the company you're using could use my screen to make some early screens?

Re: Heated windscreens - possible new batch
Hi Andy, Is it the type of shell that has a flatter section to the screen across the roof? D

Re: Heated windscreens - possible new batch
From a few measurements at the MK1 mini performance day I suspect the early screens are of the same shape just trimmed differently, getting an early screen on the mold for the later screens would confirm this. Neil

Re: Heated windscreens - possible new batch
Dino, any idea of the cost to ship to Canada? And is the windscreen price still the same? Thanks

Re: Heated windscreens - possible new batch
My early Cox screen is also cracked. I have placed a later screen on top of the existing one, the overall curvature is the same but the early Cox screen's profile does not dip down in the top centre of the roofline. There are a few other profile differences at the bottom as well.
If we can get the early Cox screens re-manufactured I would take a couple.

Did you get a picture by chance? we had worked out the top profile did not dip down and measured an early screen and later one and was amazed in the difference in height about 20mm, we were measuring screens fitted into cars so was a little hard to measure exact. Re: Heated windscreens - possible new batch
Neil, My screen is still in the Cox's shell and the later screen is sitting on top of the original. It is a bit dark in the back of my garage and I will need to shift some junk to get a photo.
The later screen seems to fit inside the inside edge of cox's the rubber. The Cox's screen may be bigger all round or may be a quirk of it lying on top.
The Cox's screen has a crack across the left lower corner (luckily not a swept area). But it would be nice to have a replacement for when I get round to painting the shell.

Re: Heated windscreens - possible new batch
I've asked Pilkingtons if its possible to add a "filler" piece to the original windscreen tool to create a Mk 1 version. It all depends on the shape of the screen matching the Mk 2 in the A pillar area. If someone's prepared to lend a Mk 1 screen I could take it down to the factory and have this checked out. The condition of the screen isn't a major issue -- cracks etc ok -- as long as the shape is correct. Any takers? Steve

Re: Heated windscreens - possible new batch
Steve's suggestion seems like a good idea. If that doesn't work out we could ship a screen out to China, for 'my guys' to have a go at.

MiniMike wrote: Dino, any idea of the cost to ship to Canada? And is the windscreen price still the same? Thanks Hi Mike, the price is still the same, but I think shipping would be prohibitive. I've asked the shippers I use within the UK and they won't do it. I've yet to find anyone that would do insured shipping overseas.
