Rossa 2 - rear Brake Backplate
Hi, been slowly rebuilding the rear of my Rossa. The nearside brake backplate is pretty corroded and is starting to separate into to 2 parts. Clearly needs replacing. Anyone had any experience in modding the standard mini part. Drilling holes is easy enough, but how is the centre hole enlarged.
Failing that, has anyone got a b'plate I could buy off them - someone who has done a disc conversion for example?

Re: Rossa 2 - rear Brake Backplate
It's critical that the holes are drilled in exactly the right place and there's a drawing in the build manual that gives the dimensions - you can get a copy from Rossabitz if you need one. I've no idea how you would cut the centre hole although it just needs to clear the hub so it's not so important as the mounting holes. Unfortunately my backplates had been done pretty badly so the brake drums were rubbing and I scrapped them when I did the disc conversion

I found the best way was to secure backplate to a piece of wood and after careful measuring use a good hole cutter on a suitable pillar drill.

I did mine with a drill mounted grindstone and some files.
