 Show me your Bulge
Having just extended the "carb bulge" on the engine cover to cover the Webers. I'm looking at various options on how to finish the rear. So was wanting to see what others had done. These are the options I've tried already, now looking at some sort of mesh, but need a lip to allow me to lift the cover off the car.

 Re: Show me your Bulge
I'm going to make an elongated bulged boot lid. I'm looking into making a mould so I can make a few of them. I think that the bulge looks better with no holes in the back. Mine will be slightly different, as the turbo air intake isn't directly behind the carb.
I'm still yet to decide where I'll have my air intake. I need to work out where the best position is, as it will need decent air pressure.

 Re: Show me your Bulge
The holes will mainly be for cooling, as the air-filter for the weber is in the "luggage" area, planning to run a duct from either under the car or naca vents on the side to it.
Just want to loose some of the hot air from the engine.

I made a mould and produced a lip which extends backwards 1/2 to 3/4" from the standard bulge. Not the best photo in the world I'm afraid. I made it to stop water getting in.

Cheers. That's what I'm thinking of, but with maybe a bit of mesh inside, where the original end was. The carb linkage is there, so needs a little protection. Already extended the bulge, all the way to the old hinge line But will mold the lip and sandwich the mesh between them.

 Re: Show me your Bulge
I'm extending a bulge a bit further than that. This is a picture of the boot lid that I am going to take a pattern from. It's on next months list of things to do.

I still have the mould if anybody ever wants a lip for the engine bilge.

 Re: Show me your Bulge
Maybe a bit off topic, but how do you all manage to keep the boot clear of water?
In mine there is always water, and because of this it is hard to transport anything.

On longer journeys, (like Stoneleigh) I tend to pack everything into blackbags, so if it does rain, it keeps things dry.
