Post Libra Wiring Diagram
Hi all,

Does anyone have a Libra wiring diagram or any wiring information they could share with me.

Looking at the lash up wiring at the rear of my car, I'm going to have to start again and its a little daunting with no info to say the least

Hi,
This excel sheet helped me when I built mine.
I've also got a copy of the Rover Rave CD 2001 which has a lot of MGF diagrams.
I can sort you a copy or you could get a more up to date on ebay?
Cheers
Juls

You might have trouble finding Rave on ebay etc now as they seem to be pretty hot on things like copyright these days. I couldn't find it anywhere. There are various MG/Rover forum sites that used to have links to download it but these have all been disabled. I found some dodgy looking download sites but didn't want to risk it. There are some kind souls around who will let you borrow their's though. The 2001 version should have Mems 3 as well as Mems 1.9/2.0. As has been mentioned elsewhere the wiring colours and several other configurations do vary from model to model so it helps if you know what car your engine loom came from. There are other tricks to save on wiring complexity e.g. earthing the starter coil earth side directly rather than via the 5as. There is only one wire from the 5as to the engine loom that is actually required!

Thanks to Libra_134 I have deduced that the GTM supplied 5AS and MEMS3 aux looms are wired together at the rear of the car. However the I'm not at all happy with the standard of the wiring so I'll be splitting them and doing it properly - the 'superb' spreadsheet will be a massive help avoiding a cock up when doing this so thanks for sending Juls (and Libra_134).
The engine loom has been disconnected by the previous owner as he intended to remove the engine but didn't get round to it. He told me that it was an MGF unit but I'm not 100% sure so I'll have to check that out. I expect the Rave Cd will help with this so if possible it would be great to get a copy Juls?

Would the rave cd give the functions for the small ecu plug pins do you think? I'm still faced with trying to work out which of the 11 unused wires attached to the small ecu plug is the fan trigger wire as this is how I'd like to control the cooling fan. As the mems3 loom was a GTM supplied harness (I think?) I'm not sure I can rely on the wire colour alone to guide me - the colours on the spare wires don't tally up with fan trigger wire on the loom in Libra_134's car for instance?

Hi,
If you PM your address I'll sort you a copy of the rave CD.
The diagrams are the same as the one on your 'MEMS3 Loom - Fan control wire' but you get a description etc. (I'll post the description on that post). So the ECM plug number C0159 Pin 67 (It starts at no pin 53) is a Blue Slate wire. It'll make more sense when you get the CD.
Cheers
Juls

Thanks. Not quite out of the woods yet. Either my clutch plate is stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate or the slave cylinder needs bleeding 'cos I can't engage any gears whilst the engine is running! Seem to have a couple of leaks from the coolant plumbing too. Electrics all seem fine now though.
