Post Help needed bleeding water system
Clamp bust causing coolant loss - can anyone advise how to get air out of the system? It's a 16v spi K series. Any tips greatly appreciated.

Post Re: Help needed bleeding water system
It's quite a while since I had a K3, but I well remember the fun to be had bleeding the cooling system. One "trick" which worked very well involved a farm track with steep sides. The car was first run so that one side was several feet up the slope, and the system bled in the normal way. This was repeated using the opposite bank. I would say that in each case the one side of the car was raised by about two feet. This worked without fail, and was simple, too, needing no other equipment than a screwdriver and plenty of coolant.

Snap.

I remember getting the back of the car up as high as the trolley jack would go, looked very precarious :(

Mine was pointing downhill with the rears up on ramps, give the engine a good rev as you add water. I also added an inline bleed in the heater matrix circuit. Between the two I finally got the air out of the system.

Didn't Rover have a vacuum bleeding system specifically for this task?
