Post Cut & shut pedals
Does anyone know the reasoning behind the shortened pedals ?

Just fitted full length mini pedals and there seems to be plenty of space/movement.

I think it's because they are too low to the floor if they aren't shortened. The one's in mine haven't been shortened enough, they are too low to the floor for me to operate with the right part of my foot

In Allan Staniforth book " Race and Rally source book" he shows 8" to the centre of the pedal, basically it needs to be hitting the ball of your foot.

I have had a seat in the car, and luckily I seem to have the correct size feet.

Also went for the primary school method of checking.
Don't worry about the throttle pedal and the location of the pedal, this was just a quick fit check.

It really depends how big your feet are and you driving position. you may find the standard pedals are more shaped for pressing down than from the horizontal so may not feel correct under foot, and may actually try to slide down your foot making a very weird feeling. For myself my feet are vertical and I am pushing horizontally certainly back when I first got my coupe the pedals were shortened, now I run my own pedals and ratios.

That is about the same as mine, as West says it's down to your feet and position,
The Kirkey seat puts my a good bit lower than is normal, and my feet (UK size 10) seem to line up well.

Going to bolt them in and see how it feels.
