Rossa Reversing Light Switch
Daft Question
My Mk2 Rossa has a switch on the dashboard to activate the reversing lights, as due to the rod change mods, the existing housing switch is on the wrong side; therefore, is it possible to drill and tap the gear change housing in situ to fit a reversing switch, or do I have to pull the rear subframe and all engine bits out to remove the rods and gear lever housing?

Re: Rossa Reversing Light Switch
Per the build manual you do drill and tap the gearchange housing to fit the switch on the other side. We did this but it didn't work (so put in a manual switch). I suspect this is due to difficulty getting exactly the right position, and/or the housing being thinner in the new location.
I suspect difficult to do in situ. I can't remember whether the access hole in the tunnel would in principle make this possible in situ.
I hope this helps.

Re: Rossa Reversing Light Switch
There must be a simpler solution to this. What is needed is some way to reverse the switch signal, make on become off. I have limited electrical knowledge but I am sure there must be something out there that would do this. My first thought was to look for a switch which works the oposite to what you have, push to make or push to break. Or a simple circute using a 12v relay wired to switch the power.

Reed switch and magnet would be simple.
I did drill/tap the housing on the coupe, but landed up having to JB weld a half nut on to give it strength.

Re: Rossa Reversing Light Switch
Thanks all and I think I'll not bother with trying to do this, as I cannot get enough clearance on the tunnel to drill/tap correctly and based on what you all have told me, it's a bit hit and miss.
