Re: Stafford Kit Car Show 13th/14th September
Im going to attempt to get down there on the Saturday. Looking at the website it looks like it should be a good show. Massive "free for all" sections outside for kit cars to park in so we could always try to find each other and park the GTMs together. "Drivers of kit cars will be given a FREE ticket upon arrival" I like the sound of that Trap.

I've decided to give this show a miss No other comittee member's will be attending, so there will be NO official club presence. Have a good weekend if you go, let's hope it doesn't rain again Bob S.

Re: Stafford Kit Car Show 13th/14th September
It didn't rain!!!! I was there on the magazine stand all weekend. The weather was good. The arrangement of owners cars was interesting. Apart from the Jago's, who had set up their own area, the rest of the cars were all parked together. It got rid of the embarassing apperance of lots of small roped off areas with signs but no cars. There was one hall and the manufacturers turn out was quite small. Westfield/GTM were present with a small display. Although I'm not a lover of replicas this one looks quite interesting. I've always liked the TR range, apart from the 7! This, apparently, was comissioned by an individual. No comment! This car was new to me but I've no doubt some of you will recognise it. On the Saturday we had one of each GTM model apart from the Rossa. This is definitely my next car.

I see that they are using the same quality of steel as the GTM Coupe. i.e mainly fresh air.

That would be my Coupe I was there with the Robin Hood Owners. I looked around for other GTM's but there was just the one Libra with no-one around and the one on the Westfield stand. Iain

Re: Stafford Kit Car Show 13th/14th September
Not being red is one of the things I like most about it. It seems to be gel-coat but the receipt from GTM says it was supplied in white I've decided not to dig too deeply on that one after the dodgy MOT it had when I got it. I had to re-spray the doors as I replaced the wing mirrors and the new ones didn't cover all the old holes. The closest match I could come up with is a Tata colour imaginatively titled "dark blue". As I sort the rest of the body out it will gradually start to match the doors. The show was OK if small I specifically wanted to attend to encourge the free entry for kit-car drivers - I know my attendance won't make that much difference but it's something I'd like to see come back after the way the shows have gone in the last few years. Some of the stall-holders commented on the fact that their fees for a stall were lower than other recent shows. Hopefully if this continues the shows will start to pick up again and be more like the ones I used to attend in the '90s We usually go to the Mini show at Bingley in January and I've been a few times in the Hood to the kit-car shows. We've often said that the marshalls should point show related cars to the right when they arrive and everything else gets parked as normal. Effectively this creates another exhibit for the organisers for free. We'll normally arrive, wander around the show and then come back out to the cars with any purchases and wander around the car-parking area to have a nosey at other people's cars. The arrangement this time made that much easier. Iain

Re: Stafford Kit Car Show 13th/14th September
I enjoyed the show again even if it was a little small. Im glad people came and talked to me about the car and GTMs in general or I do think I would have been gone within half an hour. Iv got some good photos of Saturdays line up of GTM's outside but silly me didnt bring the cam USB cable to uni with me so will have to wait till after the weekend before I can get them up.
