Post Mot changes
I have just seen a copy of changes to lighting regulations which come into force from Feb 21 and any car that has had halogen lights changed to led is now an automatic fail it used to be HID but now led has been added I know some of you have spent a lot of time developing led headlamp conversions

Extract from the 11th Jan updates and link to the full changes.

My interpretation of that is that it is the conversion of the existing headlight unit that is the problem so if the whole unit has been replaced with an LED unit then that should be allowable, assuming that such replacements are road legal items. Obviously open to interpretation though.

Only a fail if you put hid/led bulbs in a headlight unit meant for halogens (eg like the OE 5 3/4" Cibie). If you have a headlight unit made for HID/LED or which has the 'bulbs' integrated into it, it should pass (long as it has good beam pattern).

See what you mean it is a bit ambiguous although I thought HID could only be fitted if you had self levelling suspension

Nope, it states vehicles may have that and if it does it must work.
