Post Wiring Loom and Petrol Tank
Hi Everyone,

First post! I've inherited a GTM from my dad who has decided he can't be bothered to rebuild it after stripping it to its component parts. After a bit of welding the chasis should be getting shot blasted and primed in the next few weeks before i start bolting it back together. I'll make a thread in the project section showing how it's going.

Anyway, he used it for competition and therefore only had a half assed wiring loom, plus he decided to cut it to bits when he was taking the car apart. Is the wiring loom essentially the same as a mini loom? Could I just modify a mini loom extending cables such as the front lights and dash connectors and move the fuse box to the rear of the car? I know it's a big job to wire the car up and i'm not looking forward to it. Would anyone have a GTM loom lying in some dark corner they no longer need?

Also the fuel tank, from the build manual it says it uses a standard Mini fuel tank. Is this the best option, or should i source one of the box ones to sit down further in the subframe? Don't know how he managed to misplace the fuel tank, but he has.

Welcome to the forum :D

You have no worries with wiring generally, but you really need 2 looms.

I'd get hold of a mini one, and something like a Dolomite one to simplify your dash wiring. Split them both out, splice them together, and re-wrap. I use "amalgam tape" for the rewrapping - waterproof and super flexible.

I sold my old loom to NI......

I'm sure someone on here'll have a tank going spare.

You'll be bored with a 998cc within seconds.

Your chassis has some interesting rear strengthening I see, plus some strange mounting thingies in the footwells :?

Welcome :D

Id go for a GTM tank, a mini tank wastes the space quite a bit, I had a 5.5 gallon when i was A series Powered it was a pain,
