 Lumenition
Got my 1380 fired up for the first time in a year and a half, wasnt getting a spark using my lumenition optronic ignition though so had to go back to points. I've been on the lumenition website and there are some diagnostic tests to find out whats broken. It would seem like the power module.. Does anyone know whether you can get into the module and see whats broken and hopefully fix it or whether i just have to shell out 120 quid on a new box??

 Re: Lumenition
Do'nt know about getting into the module, but an Aldon Ignitor will do the same job and is simpler and cheaper. I've also used a similar system from Minispares with good results.

 Re: Lumenition
Dave i know im stating the obvious but have you checked its clean, as the optronic works by looking through the chopper and the sensor obviously needs to be clean, i had good results with the magnitronic myself when i was aseries power
cant offer any more advice myself, WEST

 Re: Lumenition
Theres two types of lumenition though, magnetronic which just goes into the dizzy replacing the points and the optic one which replaces the points with an optical sensor as well as adding this little box which goes to your coil - think its meant to give you a bigger spark for your coil..? so seen as half my kit works (checked the sensor west and thats ok) Id rather try and fix the box or find a cheap(er) secondhand one instead of chucking away the whole lot.. Ah well, I'll have a hunt around and stick up some wanted ads for good measure - just one in a long line of stuff on the to do list before the things on the road!!

 Re: Lumenition
I have a Lumenition Optronic box which was on my car when I bought it.
I didn't use it as I fitted the complete Lucas standard electronic set-up.
I have no idea whether it works or not.
I can post it to you and you can try it.
If it works we'll come to some financial arrengement. If not just send it back.
