Rear Brake Cylinders
What size is everyone running ? Currently have 12.7mm (1/2") fitted.
Was thinking of sticking on Cooper S 19mm (3/4") one's on.
Theory is I can always reduce the pressure if I need to, so would rather have too much brake, than not enough.

Re: Rear Brake Cylinders
Back in the day of drums I ran
MGB GT V8 Cylinders which are a massive 20.32 mm
Gave the balance I was looking for and they are the largest cylinders you will find that fit within the mini drum, but you will find you have to adjust them regulary this is one of the reasons I did my big disc conversion including rear as I got fed up with adjusting them every 200 miles.

Re: Rear Brake Cylinders
Did some looking into this a while ago, these are some of the available sizes/orig. applications that I came up with: 0.75" GWC 1102 Mini 0.8" GWC 1103 MGB & MGB V8 0.875" GWC 1122 Late BGT

Re: Rear Brake Cylinders
I guess those are 0.8" GWC 1103 ones. I think there is a bigger size available 7/8" seems to ring a bell.
The ones on the car at the moment are marked 29, but not sure how that relates to size.

Re: Rear Brake Cylinders
Hi It's a long time ago, but I'm sure I fitted Ø7/8" cylinders to my Coupe. I have an invoice stating GWC 1311. I think they are for Austin 1300.

Re: Rear Brake Cylinders
That's the one's.
Came off the back of a Rover SD1.
Rimmer Bros have them listed.

Re: Rear Brake Cylinders
Went for a pair of GWC1103 - 0.8" Austin 1300/MGB GT V8 cylinders in the end. Just had to move the locating pin hole slightly to fit.
