 Headlight surrounds
Hi everyone. I need a couple of headlight surrounds for my 1988 coupe. I would have thought they'd be mini, but I remember seeing somewhere on here that someone suggested they might be MGB. Can anyone confirm this...? I'm getting close to starting the car and am already dreaming of getting it on the road which is all quite exciting!

 Re: Headlight surrounds
I'm sure they are on other cars too, but they are MG B. The mini ones are slightly too big.

 Re: Headlight surrounds
yep MGB ones as they ar 8 inch outside diameter as mini is 8.5. dont be tempted by cheap ones tho, pay that little bit more for chrome platted brass ones, my cheap ones never lasted more than a year before corroding used as an everyday driver, brass ones wont rust West

Sod's Law being what it is you can get Stainless Steel versions of the ones you don't want! These are the ones you need. https://www.europaspares.com/LIGHTING/H ... _2919.htmlI think it's this one:- 8inch OD RIM - S5445

 Re: Headlight surrounds
Next question: What's the best way of getting rid of/covering the chrome? I'll be wanting black.

 Re: Headlight surrounds
Thanks for the info on this, it had been puzzling me as to why the Mini surrounds were a good half-inch too big - easy when you know how! I have bought from MGB Hive, part number 57H 5296L Headlamp Rim for £12.95 each.

 Re: Headlight surrounds
I have mini ones in mine and they fit fine, OK a bit of a squeeze to get the outter ring on but otherwise fine, I've gone for the newer plastic bowl and stainless outer, its also the new H4 conversion lens.
