As you can see I've been having a look around the car today and have some questions from a new owner....

With the boot open there's a curved wire running from front to back above each wheel. What is the purpose of these? Are they supposed to be supporting an inner wheel arch to stop rubbrish ingress or what?

I guess this was intended as a support for a mud guard,

Mine has a section of rubber bridging the gap, wire seems un necessary.
