Re: type r vtec into gtm ?
Hi , Thanks Neil am looking at any suggetions for the manifold as this seems to be the biggest hurdle at present, i have spent quite a bit of time online looking for answers, i have been thinking about rigging my own with the runners as long as possible inside a chamber , this seemed the best solution , although after exyensive reading (and the headache to go with it !) i think einstein would have trouble working this one out, runner length, chamber size, runner interior angle , turbulance, and pressure waves travelling at the speed of sound ......... Anyway here is my unworked out diagram so far , all with no reference to the above lol

Re: type r vtec into gtm ?
Also thinking that as im going to fit arches etc maybe the wheel base could be altered say an inch, moving the tower back and altering the mounts to fit ? have not 100% thought thru any implications although i cant see it being impossible..... also i know the straighter the better when it comes to driveshafts but there is obviously allowance for suspension travel etc, what sort of angle would the shafts be happy with being as they will be short ? cheers simon

Re: type r vtec into gtm ?
Hi Neil, thanks for considering this problem, i am swaying towards individual throttle bodies, i know the 'mod' as described would not be ideal , it would be ok if forced induction was used, to be honest im figuring at the moment that individual throttle bodies would be the way to go? i am looking at some cbr1100 throttle bodies on ebay but still have some thinking to do. (i have looked at itb's made for the honda engines, very pricey!) Interesting that you say odd behaviour, what could i expect , i know the length of the runners is important and changing length alters power outputs in different ways, also that sharp edges are to be avoided, im wondering what to expect from this mod? Also i have been measuring and visualising and the block looks like it leans backwards , when sitting on the sump so maybe that will save an inch on measurement, throttle bodies would also be shorter and could be fitted with short trumpets and this would be nice and direct for airflow, i think with throttle bodies it would be a close thing, today i am going to place it over a subframe and check further, 3" is sounding alot lol . cheers simon
