Preperation is key,

98% of the work is in the prep
1.5% in the primer
and 0.5 % in the colour itself.

I will dig out the tin of what I have used in the past I am sure I spyied a Tin of it, its very expensive tho but it has done me well.

It is an ICI product and is an Etch primer that is suitable for GRP not all are, altho there might be better stuff now so worth asking at the paint suppliers.

I never use etch primer on GRP. Once it is fully cured it is fairly inert and acid etch primers, which are intended for metal, have no effect on it.

I use a specific plastics primer or adhesion promoter intended for use on plastics. Most paint systems have them now as modern cars use a lot of plastic panels.
