 Interesting, R1 in a coupé
Been talking to lynx racing and they've developed a cradle that enables an engine swap from the standard A series to R1. The main advantage is that as it is an engine swap without body/chassis modification in a Mini, so that would possibly allow it in the back on a Coupé. http://www.lynxae.co.uk/Developments-1.htm

Re: Interesting, R1 in a coupé
I think the key dimension for fitting it in a coupe is the distance from the face of the rear bulkhead to the centre line of the driveshafts and the comparison with the dimensions under a mini bonnet, from the rear face of the grille to the driveshaft centre line again. I think that there is more room in a mini than in the back of a coupe.

Re: Interesting, R1 in a coupé
I was looking on the Lynx-AE site yesterday and spotted their kit.
With a GTM the size of sprocket on the differential will not be limited by the proximity of the steering rack therefore a decent sized sprocket could be fitted. (A notch would have to be taken out of the subframe at the back)
If you look at the pictures the sprocket fitted to the first car is tiny.

More power and less weight.
Sounds good in the video.
