 Doorcatches
Hi guys,
My doorcatcher on the drivers side is a bit loose, I want to put it a bit more to the inside of the car so the door will close better and tighten it. But how o how, on the backside there seem to be two nuts which I cannot reach. So I can keep turning the two screws but they wont tighten Because the nuts turn with them... How did they ever fit them and how can I reach for the nuts?
Thanks in advance
Greets Harold

 Re: Doorcatches
Hi Harold. You should have and access hole just above the level of the sill behind the seat to get to the 3 bolts holding the body to the chassis, you should be able to get a spanner up there, I made my access holes bigger and triangle shaped. Just be careful when reaching for your nuts, don't let people catch you doing it John

 Re: Doorcatches
Hi John, I found the hole, it was glued away behind the carpet. After a struggle with hard to reach nuts of unknown size, irritating isolation and a very small hole I'm a happy man, the doorcatch is where I want it and the screws/nuts are tightened. A tight hole is not always pleasant... Thanks, Harold

 Re: Doorcatches
I should have said 1/4" countersunk screws needing an 11mm spanner (i think) for "your awkward nuts" John

 Re: Doorcatches
I went the british way and took an imperial spanner, I believe it was 3/8", after all it's a car with british roots. Better get a spanner that fits well instead of one that nearly fits and you end up with round nuts...

 Re: Doorcatches
Hi Harold, In spite of tight holes in hidden places and loose nuts, you got the job done John
